Weak/Intermittent Turn Signal

Been having problems with the turn signal. Slow blink, and interior indicator was very weak. Sometimes the interior indicator would blink once, then go off while the blinker went slow and gave off a rather sick click.

Started thinking that the blinker box was bad. Cleaned the contacts on the blinker, but still the same problem. Then, I took some spray electrical cleaner and sprayed out the stalk switch contacts and . . . . . voila! . . . . . . a strong, consistent blinker. I cleaned off the return spring around the steering shaft and re-greased it. Works perfect. I surmise that the problem is old gunk, grease and dirt fouling the contacts in the stalk switch.
