71 spider 1750

i have a 71 spider with the duel weber conversion the generator light stays on untill i jump power to the green wire that runs to the gen light, then it charges fine,,,not sure what im missing,,,, thanks

the generator light needs power, if you don't have that, the system won't charge. Please see this thread HELP - Charging system seems back to front!!

yes the alternator gets its initial power from the alternator light till it generates its own power for the alternator and regulator and to charge the battery. when the internal circuits make enough power to run the regulator and such, the voltage increases and the light goes out.
the older generator circuits worked sort of the same, when the voltage generated was the same as the battery voltage, the light went out.
