Lightbulb new alternator..making it fit..

went to local pick and pull and for $15.00 i bought a alternator of a mitsu. 4 cly. car..on the side it says 75 amps. in the next few days i am going to try to mount it to mey 84 spider..nice thing about the new alt.it is smaller than the big old bosch alt.and i had it checked at kragens..it put out..13.50 low volts an ave. of 14.65 volts and a high of 15.20 volts...as soon as i put it on i will make some notes here on how to mount onto the car,and what ever this ment amp on volts act.2.27 and a hig of 8.00 voltsamp of volts 13.00 low..act 14.67 volts..

Of course you're going to compare pulley size on the new one vs the old, then calculate at what RPM it'll actually be turning at when driven by your crank pulley so you end up having a good idea if its over or under doing the values they gave you off the test machine, right?

Hi,

I have received the information that you might know of the high-output alternator to fit Alfa Spider. I have the 1992 S4 aut and have recently installed the sound system that together with the A/C drains the battery. I need something of 90-100 amp.

Post a pic of your audio system

Regards,

Vasily

Why was my battery dead?

Scroll down to my post in the above thread and see if it helps your situation. My '87 doesn't have A/C or a high-output sound system, but my '92 does, and I didn't need to upgrade the OEM alternator after following the same procedure I described for my '87.

here is the set up..from the alt...b+ = battery......'a' go's to number 1-2-3-4 on back of the fuse box.. you will see a large red wire there, just plug i into the empty spade next to the red wire...'s' go's back to the alt. just keep the orgf/ ford plug, and it will be easy to do( this is a grey/white wire) 'I' go's to the charge indicator light...this is useing a 1.9 liter ford escort alt... note here.. re-check all your grounds, take apart, clean, re-instale them, esp, the neg. wire from the battery to the body.
