yeah but not the first, anyways i can't find my multi meter so i pulled the coil plug from the dizzy and started it and got no spark out of that wire which leads me to assume that i possibly have a bad coil. is this a fair assumption?

I bet you have the two flywheel sensors reversed.
Swap them and see what happens.
Did you take the flywheel off the engine?

Crank sensors reversed, not hooked up or failed would be on the list for sure, good call Stan.
On the disconnecting the coil to dizzy lead and trying to get it to throw fire to ground?
You might not want to do that as there's a pretty fair probability it'll do something evil to the ICU or ECU, then it really won't start.

I fixed the first link. It was supposed to point here.
IF the flywheel is mi-installed and the flywheel sensors are functional, you'd still see a spark - just not timed correctly. Same if the sensors are swapped.
If one (or both) sensors are faulty, the ECU doesn't know the engine is turning &/or the crankshaft position - thus no spark. Also, the ECU requires about 10.3 volts minimum to wake up and go to work. If the voltage drops below this threshold during cranking (when the starter motor is drawing a lot of current), no spark signal.
Check the info in the (correct) link above.

okay so according to a voltmeter i have hooked into the stereo the battery is pumping out around 12 to 13 volts. Also when i took one of the sensors out it looked like something had come loose and on the clutch and almost took a chunk out of the magnet. Now this issue had been present then before i removed the engine to change the clutch and the ran fine then so why would i be having problems with the sensor now that its been sitting? I'll post pics of the sensor when i get home from work tonight to show you guys exactly what I mean. This seems to be pointing toward possibly and hopefully a bad coil, which i cant check properly until i get a multimeter. But as I said I'll get more detailed pics up tonight.

But what is it pushing during actual cranking?
If it drops below what Eric stated, then it ain't gonna go vroom no matter what the just sitting there voltage is.

Did you re-install ALL the bell housing to engine bolts/studs?
Interesting reading...

yeah i did, here a pic of the sensor that is a little gnarled, i also figured out i had the sensors mixed up but that didn't help. sorry for the blurry pic but its hard to get it in focus under that car. I think it need to be swapped out, i tried to test it but the multimeter just isn't workin for me

I see the main ground strap
Right there, just below your thumb in the pic.
BTW, I couldn be wrong, but it looks like the clutch slave is showing a bit of wet. Is it a leaker that you're aware of?
