Question 69 Spider 1750 restoration

After reading suggestions about my carb conversion and the actual value of having the car stay stock, I believe that's what I'll try and do. I'm amazed at the great responce and advice. Thanks

Question I have know is metal panels for my alfa. Floors trunk and under hood is good but rockers and both rear quarters need new metal. Does anyone have a good source. I have International and centerline cataloges. Appreciate any help

Actually, money wise, the SPICA is cheaper than converting to carbs.

Shop around for repair panels. Get OE rockers as they are a heavier guage steel than the wheel arch to wheel arch kind. Don't try and source quarter panels (I think you can get them) it is a waste of money. Someone that knows how to butt weld can put in rust repair panels and you'll never know the difference.

Do a search on the site here for floor panels etc. There's been a couple of previous threads.

Very nice 69, although I don't think that's an original color. I used to have a 71 and I really like the steel wheels and chrome hubcaps.

Most cool. That's a rare one. I don't think I've seen a silver 69 before.

Berini,

You may also want to look at http://www.alfaparts.net/105_115roadster.html. The "discussion" links on the page explains some repair options.

Those rust repair panels look fairly nice. If you have rust on the lower postions of the fenders, you definately want to replace up to the the trough. Stay away from the floor pans, though.

I have not heard good things about Wolf's parts at all. We found a supplier in Italy for some parts and they appear to be the current favorite:

Here' a picture of some of Bioni's floors. These were taken at his shop in 1997. That's my friend Claudia for scale.
