Canvas top question

I'm hoping to get a new top installed this winter or early spring - based on horror stories here and elsewhere, I am going to have it professionally done. The question remains, however, where to buy the "part/s"....? I found this site on the web and was curious if anyone was familiar with it: (I hope the link works)

http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=12647065&ssPageName=L2

Has anyone here used these guys? They are so much cheaper than anything else I have come across, and they have a "satisfaction guaruntee" (whatever that means). Their feedback rating is an astounding 100% positive! This is very reassuring.

I've also looked at IAP and duetto motors, amoung others - but $239.00 for a canvas top is the best I've found. Thanks in advance for your input.

Zack - Read it closely. That price is for the top without padded side-quarters. Padded side-quarter tops are going to run more. I don't know anything about the topsonline company, but they have 100% positive feedback, so they must be reputable. Without talking to someone who's installed one on an Alfa, you don't know how they're fit is, however. I do know many people have used Duettomotores and can vouch for they're fit and quality. I'm due for a to replacement myself next summer, and will probably order from Duettomotors. The only word of advice I would give is do not do business with Caribou. Do a search of this site and you'll find out why.

canvas top

Thanks John - yes I was aware of the padded quarters vs non... I think I will go without, as I really will only be using the top in "dire emergencies"... Duettomotors is my fail-safe, just curious if anyone has heard of these guys, first.

Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

Not happy with Caribou? What's the story on that?

Osso - Do a search on "Caribou" and you'll find out. Go over to alfa digest and you'll find that there were so many posts ripping Caribou for it's business integrity that the moderator finally had to try and tone it down. Try the Better Business Bureau web site and you'll see the same thing.

I had heard that there were a few unhappy customers. I hate to say this, but the Electron tops that Centerline sells are of very high quality. The prices are really high, though.

I wonder if Ed at Caribou and Giuseppe Morchio at Fiat are one and the same....

Nah! At least Giuseppe tells you they are not shipping!

I predict Yugo and Trabant will form a consortium and win the F1 World Championship before Ed figures out how to run a business or has an epiphany of honesty. Hey . . . it could happen . . . . . NOT.
