Anyone bought a top from Duetto be4?

The guide cables from the T usually run inside the top and has a hole that comes out near spring tensioner (on inside of top) It came w/no instal instructions.Duetto Motors comes out on outside of car near back part of top. Has anyone had the same problem? I know . I know you get what you pay for. The top is a really good looking cloth top and it was under 300.00..prelim looks like it it will fit perfect other than the tensioner cable.

Duetto tops usually fit well. I think you're doing something wrong. Do you have a copy of the Alfa top installation instructions?

no it came w/no instructions...it does seem like it'll fit ok but , I hate to cut holes and since the cable tension comes out on the outside of the car , i can eithe loop under @ the rear of the window or pop a hole on the inside and risk tearing and leakin.

I think he bought a top from the company called Duetto. They don't just sell stuff for Alfas, so they may not be any help. I can't help because my car is still in pieces. :-(

The top I installed on my car was of unknown origin (it came with the car when I bought it), but it also had no way of running the cable inside the top. Nothing at all made sense in terms of leaving it outside the car, so I poked a hole through with a sharp awl. I poked the hole way up underneath the flap so it (presumably) won't leak. I was going to install an eyelet but I couldn't fit the tool up under the flap.

My top did come with the Alfa instructions for installing the top, and the instructions show an eyelet where I had to poke a hole.

FWIW, my top is vinyl rather than cloth, so you may or may not do as much damage, or poking a hole may cause a "run" with cloth.

Hey Cruise:

I have a duettomotors.com top. Its excellent. Its amazing the quality of material and fit you get for $300. I unfortanately cannot take a picture right now as its too cold here to take it down. Should be warmer next week and I will take a picture of insertion point and exit for you. Its not like the original top as it does not have an eyelet exit up near the front. But it is an excellent quality low cost cloth top. The exit hole that you will have to make does NOT go into the outer cloth.

RT was referring to the actual Alfa top installation manual. Do you have that? Its on the cardisc. If not pop me a PM.

Best Regards,
John M

I second Duetto!

I got a top this year from Duetto, and while I did not install it, it fits like a dream and looks better than I could have imagined. Their customer service was also great so i'd like to believe they would make it right if there is a problem.
