The window is quite loose in the channels: in fact, that's the next thing to tackle after I get the motor working. But it is not binding at all, and if the motor were working, the window would move. The motor just doesn't respond. If I can't get it out without removing the whole gubbins, I'll try to free it up by turning it with my fingers on the gear at the end of the shaft, but that's a painful process, and not likely to succeed.
