1967 Dunlop brakes

My Duetto is soon to leave the body shop and come home for completion. Out of service for 21 years, but used as garage ornament.
I have been unable to locate a rebuild kit for 3/4 inch Dunlop master cylinder from the normal suppliers. Can an ATE (or any other) mc be fitted, with a reasonable amount of modification, and hooked up to my pedal?

The Dunlop kit is listed on Alfa Stop's website.

You can use a later MC, but the pipe connections are different. But with changing them you can use an ATE, Bonaldi, Benditalia, whatever MC as long as it's physically the same.

I bought full MC, front, and rear kits from AlfaStop to rebuild the Dunlops on my 65 TI and so far so good. I had to buy new front pistons as mine were rusted beyond use.

The whole system can be swapped for a later ATE if you want, but in front you have to change spindle, disk, caliper, and in rear you swap the axle.

I don't want to jinx it, but I haven't gotten a quote back from Alfastop, this time or the last time. The parts I need do indeed appear in the online catalog, but it's a long way from Chambersburg to Tony's shop in UK.

Bruce,

If Tony Stevens is proving a little too slow, I would try contacting Past Parts (also in the UK). Although they do not have a specific online catalogue, they are likely to stock this kit. I've used their services in the past and they come recommended.

Good luck

Alex.

Tony Stevens at Alfa-stop is there, but he has some e-mail problems, but he will respond. I am sure.
