Need help, broken door latch. 88 spider.

The very first time i take the car out my friend breaks the outside door latch. I almost cried.

Anyway the passenger side outside door latch broke, its stuck in the a somewhat open position and it wont budge. I can no longer open the door from the outside. Anyone know how i can fix this. I am not mechanically inclined.

basically the latch is stuck like somebody is holding it open. It sticks out from the flush mount.

Any help would be appreciated thank you.

I got a copy of the Alfa Shop Manuals on CD from Car Disc.

The Car Disc CD includes many items. It has the shop manual (all aspects of maintenance & repair), engine rebuild manual, convertible top manual, owner's manual, TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins), even some period advertisements.
