Oil Dipstick Tube With Drain Nipple
Anyone know what years of Spiders had this type of dip stick tube. The ones that have a nipple at the base of them for the oil return line from the oil/vapor cannister?
Tifosi tied his snoot tank drain line into the factor drain nipple he has on his dipstick tube.......... which he said that all L-Jet Spider's had these.
Well he was wrong..........yes folks Tifosi was wrong
In my quest for such an oil dipstick tube I found that a 88 Quad Spider does not have it but a 85 and 86 does (thank's to Romeo85).
I'm guessing it was from 82-86 can anyone confirm this?
Here's a link to the animal I'm looking for:

Murray, my 87 Quad has it at the dipstick.
Now boys, be friends.....(Waving at Murray and Darren)
BTW Murray I think I have discovered a good solution to the gasket seal for the factory hardtop to the body.....you and I discussed this area/problem at the AutoBahn....
I recently had a refrigerator dropped off (dumped) at my acreage (yes they do that in Canada too! It was black. I removed the door gasket seal from the door and I think it will work rreal well! It is black and has a magnetic compound in the outer part that ensures a good seal. If you send me your address via PM, I will send you a small sample for you to evaluate.

Oil dipstick tube
I think John M. is correct, the S2's also have these. My 81 does, and I seem to recall seeing the same setup on a mid-70's Spider.

Hi Eilo,
Just giving Darren a hard time...........First time that I know of that he was ever wrong.
Funny you brought that gasket up...........Just got done installing the top for a track day this Satrday. I'm using micro cloths to protect the body because there is little clearance between the top and body.
Yes mail me the sample..............I'll PM you with my address.

Nor does our 89.
The oil return line to the dipstick tube started in 1969 with the 1750 (at least on USA cars).

does anyone have a picture of how the hose routes under/around the radiator? the hose is missing on mine. PO just doubled it over and clamped it off with a wire-tie.

Sorry, no picture but it just runs along the body work below the radiator. IIRC, there are a couple of sheet metal strips (bent into a U shape) spot welded there to hold the rubber hose in place.
