First AutoCross Event

I attended my first Autocross event today. It was a Driver training day. I was very pleased with how my car held its own against far newer cars. I was in my '79 Veloce, runnin with late model Miata's and an Audi TT. I posted as good or better times than all of them.

Tomorrow is an actual Autocross event and I am pretty excited to see how I can do. I am not sure what class I should be in, a stock spider is ES I think. Mine has a header, dual webers, Koni Red shocks and springs and I am running Kumo 710's.

Anyone know what class I should register in?

Thanks,
Tom

Sounds like fun!

Most organisations will put you in a class based on engine size & modifications. I don't think springs & shocks count as a modification so, unless they consider your tire size a modification, you'd probably be in a stock class. A chassis stiffener will bump you out of stock however.

Please post some photos (or videos!).

I am fairly certain that technically the header (unless cast 71-74/90-94 model) will throw you into DSP. Adjustable shocks too gets you there. You'd be better off running ES.

Best Regards,
