Exhaust Hanger/Tail Pipe Duetto

I want to fabricate a new modified black rubber tail pipe hanger for my car. Can anyone recommend the type rubber material that I should use that would beat heat resistant enough to mount the tailpipe to?

Will a new, original type not work ??
These are available and cheap from Centerline and others.

Since my exhaust is "custom" I cannot use the original type (exhaust will be too close to chassis).

The car came this way when purchased. It had a universal hanger which recently broke. I was able to get another universal hangar and with some work on the drill press and with the hack saw I was able to fabricate something that works quite nice.... just took a bit of elbow grease.
