S3 Spoiler Resto?

OK, I read all the Zender spoiler replacement posts and so on, I was wondering if anyone has removed the rear spoiler and did not use another spoiler? If so what did you do with the rear brake, lights and side light assembly?

My thought is you could cut the side lens black plastic part and "re fit" it closer to the frame?
it sticks out when the spoilers not there. Has anyone tried this or anything else? Or just kept it the way it looks without the spoiler?
I'm not really going for Original Look, Sorry to the People who do, I wanted a more Slim looking rear, hopefully without that spoiler.. I'm not going to have a Show car so I want it to my liking...

The side lights are not part of the spoiler. They are part of the rear lamp assembly. You can remove spoiler and delete the third brake light but check local regulations to see if that is in compliance. You will have some holes in the deck to refill and repainted.
Cheers, Jon

Hi Jon
I know the side are not part of the spoiler, but without the side pieces the light assembly sticks out a little?

I have a 84 so no third light and the car doesn't get inspected in PA or NJ so no worries anyway...

My thought was to get the light tight to the body , maybe Cut and trim.. I have some older ones I might try to test out on...

It looks like the spoiler was removed and the lights were left as is. Notice that the black strip is still present underneath the sidelight. I agree that the rear spoiler does not go well with the lines of the car. The Zender spoiler is an improvement because it is less intrusive to the cars lines (lower profile). Total removal is the best option if you can work out the lights and the bits around them. As an S3 owner I would love to see any changes you make to your car.

I have a Trunk with the spoiler and side pieces, and I have my original with them removed. I'm going to paint the trunks and see what I like when done.. Also I have extra bumpers and I'm painting them White,Or Black. Kinda like the Beaute' Special... and adding the mid black stripe in Plasti dip first to make sure I like it. If not Ill peel it off and have all white.

Not going with White interior , I have the black leather with Red thread.

Hi. Does anyone have a line on an old school Zender body kit - air dam - side skirts - bumpers for Alfa Romeo Spider S3 ?

Top dollar paid. Not reeling it. Trying to recreate my 16 year old dream car. I'm sure you can all relate to that. Thanks for reading.
