The short answer is: By not attaching images but inserting them as links.

Images that are attached through "Go Advanced -> Manage Attachments" appear always at the end of the post.

By contrast, using the "Insert Image" function (by clicking the little postcard icon above the dialog box) allows you to insert the image via a hyperlink -- which requires that the pictures is already stored on a web server somewhere. This way, image references are inserted in the text between IMG tags.

Note: Click on "Quote" for my message and you'll see the code for inserting the postcard icon in the text. Instead of the icon, I could have used a photo.

That's a good question, I've been wondering the same thing for quite awhile, but thought to ask anyone. And Reudi, thanks for the solution.

Do the following:
  1. Start by clicking on “Go Advanced”.
  2. Type in your message.
  3. Click on the “paperclip” icon to open up the “Manage Attachments” window.
  4. Upload all the pictures that you want from your PC, by finding and selecting them with the "Browse" function. When uploaded properly they will appear as “current attachments” in the window.
  5. Close the “Manage Attachments” window.
  6. You will be back inside the message window. Place your cursor where you’d like to insert the messages, within the body of the message.
  7. Click on the “paperclip” icon again. It will open up a tiny window. Click on “Insert All”.
  8. Your pictures will now have been placed inside your message text. They will appear as regular "text" in the form of:
    “ATTACH number ATTACH”
    “ATTACH number ATTACH”
  9. Now you can move them around anywhere within the message box (cut and paste), and type before, after or in between…
  10. Use the “Preview Post” button to see what they will look like, and re-edit at will.
  11. When ready, click the “Submit Reply” button to post.

This is a sample, using the instructions above...

There is a limit of 5 pictures per post. Thus, if one wants to post more than 5 pictures, one must start a new post...

Ruedi,
No, that's not correct. You can place them anywhere in your message, and they can be uploaded from your PC. They don't have to be hosted at a third party. See my post above...

Enrique

Best regards,

Enrique,

In my post at http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/spid...tml#post893367

I do NOT see the anchors that you say are there when I try to edit it.

Am I doing something incorrectly?

Regards,

David

You're probably didn't follow Enrique's instructions completely (specifically Step #7: "Click on the paperclip icon again"). After attaching the images to a post, you need to place the cursor in the text where you would like the picture to be inserted, then click on the paperclip icon above the text box, and select the image you want to appear there from the drop-down box that shows a list of attached images, which inserts the anchors in the text. The example below shows the drop-down list after the first picture on the list was inserted after Line 1.

I read it quickly...

I did not understand it until you post the screen capture. I have become
a visual learner.

Thank you so much.
