Hood Release Issue
The hood release cable is somehow stuck on my TI. Is there a way to get the hood open without it?

Take of the front grille plates, and hart. You should be able to access the release mech with your hands and release the hood

On some Alfas the hood lock is at the firewall and VEERY difficult to get at. I have wired an "emergancy" release cable through a hole in the firewall into the driver's compartment on every Alfa I have had since the cable broke on a 2600 sprint I had some 30 years ago.

Yeah, thank God mines on the front. I was able to get it open. Now I have to re-attach the cable to the latch.

While you're at it, go to a commercial fishermen's supply and buy a length of 1/16 inch fine strand stainless trolling wire and a couple of crimp fittings. Use this stuff to make a bullet proof emergency release.

Damian-
I have access to a Nicropress crimping tool for the ferrules at work...this is a good suggestion! Make sure you get the 7X19 wire rather than the 1X19 wire.
(Much more flexible...will make it around bends better without kinking. Fisheries Supply is where I would go locally to get the wire/ferrules.

Giulia hoods
Giulia sedan hoods, unlike some later Alfas, hinge at the back. So as mentioned, it's easy to remove the grille and reach up and release the hood latch. So fishing lines, etc., may be handy, but aren't really essential on a Giulia. Might be a bit tougher on a 66-67 Super, with the two-piece split Alfa grille, if you can't remove the top half, to get at the hold-down screw behind the round Alfa emblem.

There's nothing magical about these cables. Just go buy a bicyle brake cable of the right length. At the latch end, it looks around a pin and is tightened with a tiny clamp. At the handle end, it's tightened with a drilled pinch bolt. The cable itself is not special at all.
