Motor Stumbles???

I need help. My 87 Quad engine "stumbles" when I give it slight throttle. It seems like a 1/8" of throttle movement will cause the engine to almost die. Any more throttle than that is fine and it runs great. It seems worse when cold. (if 60 deg. is called cold).
If it were carburated I would expect the problem to be the accelorator pump. But with F.I. where do I look???
Thanks in advance
Charlie

Sounds like you may have an air leak in the rubber hose from the AFM to the black plastic air duct on top of the cam cover. Make sure the accordian part of this hose, near the AFM, is not torn and make sure that it is securely clamped to the AFM.
