Carbs to Spica

I'm converting my 1973 Berlina from carbs to Spica. I'm looking for a fuel pump, accelerator linkage and air box for the Spica system. Anyone have any thing they are wanting to part with?

I've got the linkage (nicely powdercoated I might add) and the air box if you need them but I would guess you could find them nearer to you. I would buy a new fuel pump just because I wouldn't want to trust a used one...

PM me if you find you need the stuff.

You must not have experienced a well running SPICA. I love my Webers but I marvel at my SPICA. - performance is on par and gas mileage is better. My SPICA motor (with an after market electronic ignition) fires up in about a revolution compared to a few revs and a lot of pumping (no choke with my Webers). And I think the SPICA system is cool. About the only thing I miss with the Webers is the sound

Sorry for the mini-hijack, but I thought it important to point this poster to the thread "Spica vs. Carbs" (for some desperately needed education ), and allow the author of this thread to proceed with his "Carbs to Spica" project...

Best regards,

Ahhh, thank you very much. Any one interested will have to opportunity to pick up the carbs, air box, intake mfld, linkage, fuel pump when I'm finished with the conversion. I'm also rebuilding the engine, nothing to radical in my old age...mild port, mild cams and pump to match. I'm expecting it to put out 150-155 hp.

Foreign Auto Menders has it all

Call Dan at Foreign Auto Menders (FAM) in Poway, CA (858) 486-0350. He has mountains of Spica parts, and always prices them very reasonably. Spica rules! Carbs are fuelish, stinky, loud, and don't provide the low-end driveability of the Spica (IMHO). Most people blame their ignition problems on the defenseless Spica pump, and degrade their cars with expensive carb conversions. Even if the pump is old & worn out, a wonderfully rebuilt/calibrated pump from FAM is far cheaper than the carb conversion. Can't figure out why so many folks think that is a "performance" upgrade! Congratulations on your great choice to restore your car to its natural configuration.
