I have dutifully purchased two flare wrenches--one metric, one standard as the MC brake line appears to want something between a 7/16 and 11 mm (if I remember correctly).
I'm sort of heavy into this pot in that the booster is definitely bad as well. Thus, I'm going to end up replacing the MC and booster. If I recall, this all started with changing out the flexible brake lines
I'm a bit leery of rebuilding the booster as there appear to be two parts kits required. I don't like the $$$ for a new one, but it seems like with the booster (and the MC), it's just about worth laying out the money to get new. The MC rebuild quote is about $50 shy of getting a new one.
Since I am down this path, I was thinking of replacing the steel lines. They don't seem too bad, but while I'm in there.....
Does anyone know a source for the specific Super steel brake lines? I have only seen lines for GTVs and Spiders--not sure if the GTV lines would work with a bit of creative bending. I'm probably not qualified to build my own lines (these are the brakes after all).
On the plus side, I have spent a lot of time under the car and am identifying future tasks that need to get done.
