hello dennis,

How were the wheel modified from 4.5" to 5.5" ?

I currently have between 15 and 20 (don't know exactly) 15x4.5 rims for early Ti and Supers for only 2 cars. I plan to have some of them widened to run modern tires. (even if 155x15 are GREAT - both to look and drive - on a early 105 )

Oh by the way what is the brand of the springs you are using ? Unlike most of them, the car is not sitting too low.

help would be appreciated

regards
sébastien

Hello sébastien,

The tires that I have on the car are 175/65/15 bridgestone.
The wheels are cut in half and then 1'' is welded between it. They are now 5,5J. I still have innertubes in the tires.

I don't know the name of the springs that I have mounted....sorry. I bought them from a friend.

There are lot of great roads in europe

Greatings from Holland.

A fair number of places in the US widen wheels in this manner (Stockton Wheel in Calif being one).

I've had wheels widened this way, some were good, some not, its better to get new rims put on your centres although that may mean ending up with 15x6, or you could look for some second hand 5.5 wheels that fit and have the centres changed.

Awesome

Loving this thread. Some beautiful cars and very informative. Trying to work out how I can fit a Giulia Super onto my drive...

just got a sedan

I have received my new alfa. 1967 Giulia 1300 TI . The little motor is very much an alfa. Car imported several years ago from Holland. I am thrilled and feel very lucky to complete the trifecta, sedan, spider, and gtv.
