I have no idea what the reserve is. To do the door panels and headliner and the other minor repairs the seller mentions will probably run about $1000. To me, the world's best berlina is only worth about $7500, but berlinas have been selling for more than that...

Am going to go see the car on Sunday. Am not sure am a player. I just do not have a slot for it at this time. It is rare to see a Berlina around here, so i have to go and at least take a look. I have never driven and Alfa sedan, this is my chance.
If anyone is interested in the car am glad to share my findings.
i talked to the owner and he seems nice. Said the car was bought on Ebay two years ago for 3100. The car was shipped to Alabama from the West coast. He has painted it, and did the interior work. Both done at professional shops, but who knows what that means. He also had a major tune up and suspension work done by a pretty good Alfa wrench here in the area. I know the shop and they are qualified.
If anyone knows this car firsthand please fill me in? Thanks, David

Yup, that's just what I said too...

If the world's best Berlina is worth about $7,500 to you, then please find me not one but 2 I will buy them from you on the spot.
My Berlina 2000 cost me $8,000 to only buy it from Europe and ship, and now I am spending $18,000 to do the restoration, body, engine, transmission,
interior.
So you do the math, and please anyone out there correct if I am wrong.

Wow, that's my old berlina. This car was a California car until the last owner sold it. Looks way better with a new paint job and upholstery. This was my first Alfa as a youngster back in 1992.
Here is the link from almost two years ago. FS: 71 1750 Berlina in San Francisco

Berlina Feaver
It is the greatest thrill to drive a Berlina. The Berlina went thru what Alfa went thru in the late 60's and now in the 2000's. Alfa is a better and more tech over the German copy.(BMW). Alfa needs to pull out the thorn out of someones bottem side and inport to USA. I love driving my 69 Berlina here in the US. I have been putting off buying my wife a car as her Mercedies is getting old wanting a new ALFA.
What is wrong here.

Good to see the car has been taken to the next level, now who will finish it off? In retrospect this Berlina is one of the best Alfa's I have owned, very tight, very fast and reliable too. Who ever gets this car will be happy with its performance. I don't remember it having any rust other than where the drivers seat mounting was welded to fix a stress crack and not treated. The ebay auction when I sold it to the current seller ended at just over $3000. I admit I regret letting it go...

Haig you are the best example when it comes restoring a Berlina. Give us some of your thoughts, experience, and aggravation of course which is priceless.

I'm well aware what it costs to restore a berlina. They appeal to me more than an Alfetta based car, but if I was going to spend $25,000 or more, I much rather have a giulia super or even a giulia TI

Berlina...opinions...
Id like to complete my 69 berlina project...which is almost coming to an end...yes it has been costly..but that is exactly my nature..as i totally dislike the idea of doing half a restoration....we will battle this further...as i post the final and complete resto in a month or so.....
Its obvious that some of us here on the bb...like to compare dollars invested...verses..other more desirable alfas...which in this case i have both ....a gtv and a super.....by the same token ....the famed '' Berlina Fever''..thread...introduced by italcarguy..back in june of 2006....has recieved some 29700 hits.......might want to check it yourself...
I WONDER WHY...!!!!!
