Rear screen demister fan

Has anyone ever sighted or have any idea of the rear screen fan and demisting system talked about in some literature? I see my early Giulia Ti 1600 has ventilation slots against the base of the rear screen but my owners handbook (copy kindly provided by Alfa Storico) does not even mention such a device . I got the impression it was a factory optional accessory- Lancias of the same era evidently had a similar device and slots in the trim suggest there was such a thing.
