I have engine type 01623 as being fitted to the 116.36 model Alfetta GTV 2.0 (83-up) and the 116.55 Alfetta 2.0 L. However, since my model type/engine type spreadsheet is not complete, it's quite possible that there were other fitments as well.

thanks Jim. Since I can't locate the oil presure sender, can you tell me where is it? Suppose must be somewhere under the header on the block, but no! There is a sender on the block on the other side as usual for a 105 ( I guess this is for low oil pressure light) and there is also a sender on the head near the back spark, might be for water temperature, but since this engine has manifold from the 105 series, they left the other sender (on the head) free.

Funny thing...if you 've bought a car for some euro or $, you don't have any anxiety for what you are doing on it, especially if you don't care for originality. Nice time for make it just fast and without problems for track days. This is the issue for my "new" Giulia. I bought it some days ago, it was running, but, mama mia the PO knew nothing about those engines! Just look at the photos... Carbs rubbers where really a mess, they even had 3M with filler around the rubbers. I had plenty of spare time and worked three days, so I change the dirty and messy bay to a nice looking one. And the funny thing I mentioned before, came up from the fact that now, this combo ( Giulia + 2.0L Alfetta engine) is amazing! Pushes hard, really hard. Now I'm looking for some repairs on the steering and took off the inner lights for better air income. Now, I have two nice and big holes, one for a big custom air filter on the right and one for a good oil cooler on the left. And I thought that this Giulia might be only for a trasportation here in Cyprus....
Jim, Do you know if the stud for the oil filter is enough long to have both an oil filter and the plate for the oil cooler?

The oil lighter sender in front of the exhaust side motor mount. The oil pressure gauge sender is above the starter at the back, intake side of the block. Hard to see.

Thanks Andrew. But, on the exchaust side on the block, the hole is tapered from the factory! So, no presure oil light sender indeed. 'm I missing something here?

Can't help with oil pressure, but the temp sender to the guage is the one nearest the thermostat. The one in the centre near the spark plug is for the overtemperature light (on an Alfetta anyway).

That looks like a rather late cam cover too, so I'd guess it is from an Alfetta, or maybe the last Spiders ? The 'lugs' on the front of the block support the airconditioner compressor bracket.

Hi Vangelis.
Your engine is from a euro spec Alfetta GTV,late 1976 model or early 1977.

Vasilis

The oil pressure gauge sender on the intake side is not tapered, but seals with a washer. The oil light sender on the exhaust side is a taper fitting, which is how the oil light sender (much small than the gauge sender) fits in.

Perhaps must take some photo shots to give the idea what I'm asking: The car is (was) a Giulia super 1300 with a 2l engine propably from the Alfetta range. It has back and under the manifold the oil presure sender, but is a small type not the big one I knew from other 105s like my Berlina 2L. On the dash side there is an instrument for oil pressure and not some light for low oil pressure. I checked the line to the dash and the instrument by giving earth to it goin from max to zero when it was earthed. Connected with the small oil presure sender the instrument shows only max , the same as if it is unwired. Thus, must have two options: the gauge is of or, it isn't match with the inside resistance of the old Giulia's dash instrument. The oil presure itself shows anytime big resistance. Actually, I don't have any data for the oil presure senders to have any reference. On the other hand, there is nothing, wired or a sender or a hole for a sender from the exchaust side (like a low presure warning). And the funny thing is that here where I join Giulia I dont have the Berlina to check its trusty big oil sender unit on Giulia's instrument.Don't have a new sender, too. Is there any chance to see what is goin on with a dif trick?
