New addition to the family

Another member of the family was delivered on Monday. It is a 1971 1600 Super "Biscione" in Blu Olandese. Now I have to work on getting the paperwork sorted so I can get plates and get her on the road!

As I am still relatively new to owning classic cars, what should my first actions be? I am planning on replacing all fluids and the air and fuel filters. And during my test drives the front right brake caliper was sticking, so the PO replaced and refurbished the caliper, but it is still sticking. So I am also planning on replacing all of the flexible brake hose lines. But what else should I be considering?

Here are a few pics....and sorry about some of them being washed out, the weather here in Belgium has been so good that my camera filters can't cope with all this sunshine! ;-)

Cheers,
-Ray

Thank you very much!

I had a sense that you may know a bit more about this car...being, what I imagine is an Alfa sedan authority in Belgium. Have you come across it often in the past years?

Regards,
-Raym

Thanks but to much credit !!

Have seen it a few times a long time ago and not in detail , at the time the PO was advertising this car he sended me a lot of pictures of it, I remember this car because overhere it is very unusual to see such an unmolested car in this condition, also the price was right
At the time someone asked me if I knew a good car it was sold !

I hope you are going to have a lot of fun with it !!

Best regards

Roland

Hi Raym,
Beautiful berlina that you just acquired. I have a very similar one and I once owned a 1971 GTV 1750 in the same color as your coupe.
If the caliper was replaced, the problem could very well be a flexible hose. Please replace the brake fluid right away also.
Have fun
Mr. C.

Once the plates are on, I think it will be very difficult not to enjoy it!

I felt quite fortunate to have found it as I was digging through some old posts on the alfaclub site....I found the posting about 8 months after it was originally posted and was very happy to find out it was still available when I first inquired.

Anyhow, I hope to meet you some day, Roland, at some local events as I've enjoyed a lot of the information you provided on the board. Do you happen to attend the Spa Italia days?

Regards,
-Raym

Thanks Mr. C. and for the reminder to include the brake fluid on the list of fluid replacements.

As for the GTV, I never get tired of seeing the Bertone form in that Metallic Olive color!

Cheers,
-Raym
