Automatic Berlinas were never sold in the US, so I think it's unlikely you'll find one. Plenty in Australia and South Africa, but that's a long way off. And there were automatic GTVs in Europe and elsewhere, but not in the US.

I don't know if the trans was used in any other car, but certainly the bellhousing and trans mount areas would be unique to 115 Alfas.

Maybe a late Series 4 Spider (early 90s) auto trans?

Automatic Transmission

They turn up on eBay every once in a while here in deutschland, but seem to be very, very rare even here. Although I know they exist, I've only seen one automatic Berlina in the last 15 years - it might be easier to convert to a standard?.
BTW: An automatic GTV sounds about as useful as a rubber drill - at least to me.

"Quietelk" will disagree with you - he has two, and is restoring one of them. Look at his thread "automatic GTV" in the GT's section. ALthough it wouldn't be my choice, it makes sense and he's doing a lovely job of the car.

Hey Ben,
in that case it does obviously make sense and I certainly didn't mean to be putting salt in any wounds, but I fortunatly have the choice and it certainly has been made. It would be interesting to know how that transmission performs though? Did you get my PM?
regards
Bob
