another one bites the dust!

Haven't updated this thread for ages, and sadly there hasn't been a lot of progress on my project, I just haven't had the time.

The engine is basically done, and is sitting at my mechanic's workshop waiting.

I made some decisions re wheels and suspension, and bought the 7" GTA replicas from Alfaholics, as well as their fast road suspension kit, so the car should sit really nicely on the road.

I've stripped the car for painting, and just have to sandblast the engine bay and grind out some rust before it goes to the panel shop.

Over the last few weeks I got stuck into stripping the parts car, and I think it's safe to say that anything usable on the car has been removed!

As they say, waste not want not !!

No worries mate.

I'm glad it has been sacraficed to a worthy cause. I guess I've moved on too since finding the yellow 1750 coupe.

How were the floors in the end? did you keep them? I still might be interested.

Cheers

Adam,

The front floors were rough, a few rust holes. The back floors were fine, but I ran out of time on the weekend to cut them out, and the car goes to the scrap metal yard tomorrow

I'm pretty sure the back floors are specific to the Berlina anyway, they're longer than coupe and giulia super floors.

Oh well, new floors for me it is then.

It's surprising to find rust there. It always seemed clean but i guess you can never tell what lies beneath.

Cheers

new parts car arrived.

The parts car has gone to the scrap metal yard, and has been replaced with another parts car....a '72 2000 auto. This makes Berlina number 3.

It looks ok from a distance, but up close it's very rusty. All exterior panels have rust, floors too, and the inner sills are shot. Engine bay has rust too.

The interior is pretty good. The seats are mostly good, a couple of the door cards are near perfect, and the dash is ok, so there should be lots to salvage off this one.

It probably looks restorable in these pics, but it's definitely not an economically viable proposition. A shame really, would have been nice to having a matching LeMans Blue coupe and sedan.

If anyone sees any parts they want, send me a message, cause I'll be selling a lot of the stuff on this car.
