Super-Tinted Glass ??

I saw a pic of a lovely Giulietta Sprint the other day and it had tinted glass all 'round. My avorio 116 coupe had tint which really gave the car a subtle 'something'. I don't recall seeing any 105s with tint, but then I've never really looked for it either.

Was tint an option, or available in some markets for 105s (particularly Supers) ?

I parted out an AC equipped '74 Berlina last year that had tint all the way around. Also have an NOS tinted Berlina windshield (glue-in) in storage. From what I understand it was provided on the factory AC Berlinas and GTVs, which is kind of funny since the non-AC cars would need it more! Not sure what years it encompassed, maybe just the 2L cars.

On another note (hijack my own thread ) is aftermarket tinting big in the US ? Here in Oz it's quite a common thing to have window side glass film tinted. I wonder how a Super would look with dark or metal tinted glass ?

As far as I know Supers never had tinted windows

You can use a tinted Berlina front screen though, because they are the same
I have a green tinted front window in my Super

I believe all the AC Berlinas got tinted windows. I parted on too in early 2005. I can't imagine they'd have used tinted windows on a Super.

Beatle, All this talk about what you can do to a Super, I'm sure everybody is keen to see the Super you have/want
When are your plans revealed?

yes im keen to see too... he clearly has something in the pipeline..

maybe the tint on the A/C cars was to give the impression to the owners that the A/C was actually worthwhile

I dream of AC up hear in sweaty Brissie!
Of the hundreds of Super photos I have collected I dont think tint was an original option. Could look cool if the Super has some more aggressive wheels on it.

The cheap 67 Dark Green Super I mentioned in another thread was in the weekend paper still for sale in Brisbane for $3200 neg,
FS: Giulia Super in Brisbane Australia
just thought I'd mention it in case any other Aussies are gettin that sedan bug itch. Looks pretty original as I have seen it drive past a few times, needs a bit of mechanical love though! Dont see many drivable Supers for this price any more

Lads, I do recall back in the 70s, my dad's GTV2000 had a plastic blue screen attached to the rear windwscreen. I have find memories of it as the became illegal to have tinted windows and we had to break it carefully to avoid cracking the rear screen.
