OMIGOSH ! Towbar on a Super ?
OK OK, don't panic .
I was wondering if anyone has, or has seen a Super with a towbar fitted ? Would be handy to tow a tiny trailer for club days, or even camping weekends.
I assume it would have been relatively common in Italy in the 60's/70's as the Super really was a useable family car.

Don't flattow a 105/115 series Alfa for longer distances without disconnecting the driveshaft as it will kill the transmission.Or are you referring to a trailer hitch? That can be done.

I have a tow bar for a Super, large bar bolts across the outside through bumper holes, then tube goes back between tank and spare wheel well and bolts up to front of boot floor and bracket on bar. No new holes in body, as it hangs just below back panel.

chrisgpj1c,
Great news. I'd appreciate a pic if you can organise it .
Alleggerita: Yep, Aussie towbar = Canadian trailer hitch.
I'm thinking a small, covered, retro-look trailer with paint and wheels to match the tow car would be pretty cool .

There was a silver 1300 Giulia on ebay a couple of years ago that had a trailer hitch.

Mike Valant had one on his super. It was a pretty neat setup, as I recall. You could try emailing him and see if he would help you.

Years ago a friend used to tow his Super to autocrosses in Los Angeles. He removed the front bumper and had some brackets made up that went through the holes. Then had a custom tow bar made that attached to the brackets with clevis pins. Car towed like a dream.

Into the night
Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Jake: Hit it.
Explanation available, if required.

Yes, you are confused I'm talking about using a Super to tow a small trailer on club outings and camping trips. Might even use it to take lawn clippings to the tip
After all why would you ever need to tow a Super anywhere ??????
If I had a pic of a towbar (ok tow hitch) I think I could fab one up.
GIULIA BIANCA: Thanks for the offer, if in fact it was an offer . Freight to the Antipodes would kill the deal.
