1750 Berlina handbook & parts manual

Hello fellow 4-doored friends.

I have both the handbook and parts manual (the latter updated with S2 entries) and I was just wondering whether I should bother sitting down with a beer (or three) and scanning both documents.

I think the parts manual has already been done (cardisc et al??) but I dont think the handbook has and im sure some people would like to see it and glean information from it.

So, please let me know because I wouldnt do this for fun or for my own purposes, but other people may appreciate it.

Cheers

Pete

I for one would appreciate it. I would buy you a beer but I think there might be some international laws restricting that.

I think it's a terrific idea. I think you are underestimating the number of beers that will be required.

I think the owner's manual was done as well, at least it was for the 1600 Duetto. The Cardiscs were done more than ten years ago. The resolution is very low and the quality is just not there. Technology has changed quite a bit which means you can make a better product than the Cardisc.

I would appreciate it, even though I don't own a Berlina.

Ok.. well when all my Uni assignments are done and dusted I'll do it, which means after this friday, which means Saturday..

The parts manual is wonderfully good fun, its a teeny bit yellowed but overall in great nick. Helped me to find out that my car only has 1750 on the rear panel and not 1750 with an alfa roundel next to it. (series 2 change).

Also found out I have the 743rd Series 2. How useless is that information.

I'll scan them in JPG then make them into a PDF with thumbnails, that way everyone can look through at their hearts content.

Pretty useless as there are no bragging rights with that one.

That's what I did with mine. BTW 100 dpi scans tend to look pretty crappy. I did most of mine at 300 dpi and some at 200 dpi.

Yeah my scanner hoots along pretty well at 300dpi. I dont know how much it will seem like it's hooting after 300 odd pages of parts manual.. but.. we'll see I did some tests today with the owners manual.

300 dpi = very nice and smooth
100dpi = readable, but wouldnt print so nice
