The US tail assemblies on ebay doesn't seem to be NOS, even though it is stated as such on the listing. The lenses (especially the red part) look very oxidized to me. How do you think?
The new tail lenses acurtiss is talking about are repro (not original), so the red and amber colors are literary "painted" on colorless transparent plastic and are bit darker than the original ones. In addition, the repros lack the chrome trim around the reflector so they look somewhat cheap IMHO. However, I think that they are excellent alternative for cracked or faded originals for non-concourse cars.
BTW, the price of these new lenses is already $70.00 (reserve not met
). Be careful if you are bidding on this item, since centerline sells them for 42.75 each.
