My Dutch Giulia
Hello all,
After lusting after the Giulia Super and Ti for years I've finally found one on a recent trip to Holland. She's not pretty at the moment but very original. The underside is rust free, paint (what's left of it) is original as is the interior and engine bay. I'm going back to the Netherlands to pick her up, go to the Spettacolo Sportivo event ( http://spettacolosportivo.eu ) then ship the car home. I plan on doing a restoration on it this winter. I'll be posting many questions in this area of the BB soon, so I thought I'd say hello.
Friends of mine, my parents and my wife can't understand the attraction I have to the Supers and Ti. Hopefully they will as the project progresses.
Some more photos are at the Giulia link below.

Fred,
my wife didn't understand why I wanted a Giulia until she drove it. Now she quite likes it. Good luck!
Angus.

Congratulations, and nice photos of your GTV restoration by the way. Looks like the Super is in good hands.

It's a lot of fun shopping for Giulias in Europe. Lots of good cars (and some rusty ones 8^)! ). Is she a late model?
The Sportivo event should be spectacular! I want to go, but am tapped out after my own adventure importing Giulias from Europe!
Make sure to contact the Dutch Alfa Club, SCARB, while you are there. They are true Alfisti and I was truly amazed by their hospitality.
If you see these folks at the event, give them a big hug from me! Roland (Giulia Bianca)and Liesbeth.

Thanks guys.
Yes, I love the plum color.
I'll post photos here on the BB from the Sportivo during my stay with an emphasis on Supers and TIs... including my shabby looking car. This winter I'll start the resto it. Anyone know of a good Super parts dealer in the Netherlands? I'd like to load up the trunk with stuff before I ship it.

Nice find !!
I wil look for this car at the Sportivo event on sunday
There are a lot of parts for sale at this event, but before you buy a lot of parts, ask the shipping company if it is OK to put those in the car for transport, 101/105 guy was not alowed to do that
I think you are going to love this event, only hope that the weather wil be fine

I'll look forward to meeting you too GB.
I should wear a backward baseball hat so you guys can tell I'm from the US
Last time I shipped a car I did stick a few items in the trunk. I think they don't want any parts in the cars is because they don't want to be liable for the theft of them. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Or perhaps I'll just box them up and ship them home.
The weather has got to be better. The last 3 weeks have rained every day as you probably know.

Just come with your Giulia, I wil recognize you
The weather is strange this year, in july we had the hottest month since they keep records, august was the wethest, the forecasts for september are a lot better, for what they are worth
Maybe you can mail your wishlist to one of the dealers and pick it up that day, saves some time I think
Maybe Henk Prins can help you, he is one of the biggest past dealers in Holland, he is also the guy who is building that
race Giulia in one of the threads, take a look at www.prinsbredevoort.nl, he also has a stand on the Sportivo event
Looking forward to meet you !!

I've set up a web page for my Sportivo event photos. I'll also be posting photos under the "events" section of this BB. I'll be taking photos of as many Supers and Ti's as I can find. I'll put those in this section.. as long as I can find WiFi.

I made it to Zandvoord and as you can tell... found some wireless.
No time for photos today. Too much running around.
Picked up the Giulia and drove her around for a few hrs.
Noticed some vibration that seems to be coming from the driveshaft at about 30 mph area. I get the vibration durring acceleration, downshift or clutch in- it is all the same durring that speed.
Ujoints/dounuts/center support problem?
It's not bad enough to stop me from driving - but while I'm here should I get the parts?

Had a blast today zooming around Zandvoord with the Giulia. She may not be much to look at but she's got tons of pep and heart. Even in her state I got lots of thumbs up from the locals. (Perhaps that is a Dutch way of saying your car is ugly!)
Car was covered with bird droppings so a washing was in order. Must have added 10 bhp :P
