I thought a few pics of the ' Tour d' Orange ' today are in order. Mine was the only Alfa, but about 250 cars made the run.

Must be around 1973.
As I know itīs a scene out of a police movie series.
By the way, bandit characters are moody and cool,
the gangster movies of the 70īs are something great to look at.

I think the first clip is from a film titled "Violent Naples"
I've seen it on DVD. PM me for a link if you're interested.

Zafar,
Nice looking Berlina. I, for one, am impressed with the mods that you've done to make your car a practical daily driver in Jakarta. AC, power steering and an automatic transmission! Sure, it's a performance trade-off but there's something to be said for being able to use an Alfa as your daily driver. Most of us would be pretty reluctant to give up our 5-speed but if you're in a lot of stop and go traffic it probably makes sense. Besides, if you want to go shifting in the mountain twisties you can always take the GTV or the Jr.

Zafar,
I am really impressed as to what you have done to that great looking berlina...besides...how can you go wrong with a toyota shifter...perhaps..the new '' Alfa-Romeo''...Conglamorate...together with the fiat group..can learn a thing or two....from your well orchestrated..mechanics...welcome to the BB....
I am afraid to ask....if you have modified the status of your other cars..and if you did...perhaps this is a good time for me to ask you....if you could share with us your ingenius findings....Haig

Yes, we only have 2 seasons down here in Indonesia, it's hot and dry or hot and wet. Basically the average temprature is 30 degC or above, so we have to cool the engine down as much as it is possible, and A/C is a must! Also I only use the low and mid grade fuel for the Berlina without pinging thanks to limiting the advance of the distributor. For sure this Berlina is not used for its speed but for most of the time I can still keep up or even ahead of the traffic. During the weekends I am using either the Spider or GTV ripping the mountains together with the other AROC Indonesia members. Attached is a picture of my Berlina during one of the 'Classic Car Show' held in Jakarta.
Happy Berlina Motoring.

That movie on youtube is fantastic, but I think the Italian film industry has a lot to answer for in regard to the number of terrific cars it is responsible for destroying!

I'm impressed but your missing the spears that go on the rocker panels. I'll donate a pair I have, if you can figure out shipping.

Thanks to Rogerspeed for your offer, but the cost of shipping and import duties may be prohibitive to send it over. Fortunately we have a lot of skilled labor over here at very reasonable cost to make up almost anything. I still have to make the spears for the rocker panels, but mind you the front windscreen trim on my Berlina is a copy made of chromed steel instead of aluminum becuase I have lost the original one.
And for Haig thanks for your suggestion using Fiat parts instead of Toyota, but the Fiat trans I know only have 3 speeds while the Toyota has 4 speeds with overdrive so I can cruise at lower RPM using the original 4.3:1 diff.
Other modifications on my A-Rs were: high capacity alternators (80+ amps) to cope with the additional electric equipments, Peugeot 306 steel wheels (same 108mm PCD and the originals were rusted beyond repair), Benz 123 series front disc calipers (all you need is to trim the disc a little bit and Auto trans need beefier brakes), Alfetta steering column and electrical switches.
If you need more info on those modifications please send it to my e-mail address below
Have a nice weekend,
Zafar
