Thanks for the info on the S2K! Fantastic cars I am sure!
How does your new Alfa run besides the TLC things that need sorting.? Dont concern to much about these things its been setting for years Its normal stuff to sort out. "Even if its a pain in the butt".
Please see my post about your motor. Your valve cover is grounded look at the front of the cover, You will see to nuts and bolts from the head to the cover. And even if it was not grounded it would not be your battery loss.
_____
You have another problem could be the "glove box light," the door some times does not close to cut the power to the light.
There is no concern about your alum . washers not on the back. On some early cars thay where not. If you have new proper gaskets you will have no problems. If the half moons do not seal you have other issues Thay stick up and crush down alot with the cover going on.
The so called crush washer was there 1st to ground the the cover. Yearly cars had no front tabs as your does.
If you ever shorted out a plug on the Valve cover with no Ground the spark could cause a explosion of the gases in side the motor and out side from the gassing. Now thats a Lighting bolt!
It has happened and its bad!
Yes its a good idea to get a battery charger But get one that is low Amp. like 1 or 2amps tops as a trickle charger. It will keep it in top shape and your batterys will last longer as your charging system will also.

Py105 Thanks so much for the info on our rear seats.
here in the U.S.A. you do not see this style much. maybe I have seen 4 in the last 35+ years. and thats this one an mine.
I wish you fine motoring in new new Alfa
Peter

Thanks for the info Peter...ive only driven it to my house and back...over last week...eveything is still settling in....its obvious that my mechanic did everything by the book....again its a fresh 2 liter new clutch..new everything ...runs very strong....perhaps better than my gtv...which is near damn perfect too...we will see how it does....after i brak it in ..some 500 miles later....but let me tell you ..its more fun than a lot of cars that ive had...too early to tell though....

Just got off the phone with santo..my mechanic...its all taken care of.

next some cool tires....pirelli is first choice...later

Haig,

I can't wait to see your Berlina. My dad says it looks very nice now.

I think Manuel needs a Berlina. What do you think?

Anthony,
You may be right....Mano..needs both...a Green Berlina...and a white or even red giulia....so we can complete the flag.

Santo says....the powder coated stock 14 inch wheels are due any day now...hopefully before the end of the week...next ...some tires...

Why the change in sparkplug leads from the red to blue ones?

The red one looked great in the black 'sleaves', very neat and original (I think) looking. I'm pretty sure that's how my car used to be, ie. 2 leads share a plastic sleave to stop the leads flopping about all over the engine.

Pete

Peter....you are very attentive to detaill..as a watchmaker...good observation...the red wires and the blue are all temporary...sets...i ordered a brand new set..in red..to arrive soon...also a lot of relays and other electrical components are reordered....what you see is only a temporary measure by Santo...where a last minute call by me .....forced him to put things together ..just for a weekends review by me....i will post more..during paint...and interior...so we are 3-4 months away from completion..H.
