1969 berlina 1750..white.CONTINUED...

THIS ...amazing berlina sat on this lot for at least 18 years..according to the owner...who was a friend of a friend...so i first paid the guy...then asked questions... amazingly it had no rust...must have been covered...then let go...everything was frozen....tires flat..still managed to tow it to my house some 60 miles away...and the work began.

My '69

You '69 story doesn't sound much different from mine. Mine sat for 18 years in a guys garage and after a year of waiting mine is too back to life. Here is what mine looked like when I bought it:

Wow, great car! What a find, can't wait to see the classic red interior brought back to life, but where are the "crush" washer for the rear of the valve cover?

Your 69 is a true diamond. Sooooooo Glad it got saved!!!!
Also your rear seat has a nice arm rest storage. Yours and mine are the only ones I know of now days.
Yes we all know the Valve cover must be grounded. But check the cover it has nuts and bolts grounding it in the front. so Its OK this way .
It is only on the early cars with no front tabs that need the alum.ground.

I thought the aluminum washers are designed to help with the sealing of the "half-moon" insert gaskets in the rear of the head, hence the term "crush-washers" just a lightening rod! (well grounded)

THE s2k..is a fun 6 speed that comes alive in 3rd gear..when the vtec kicks in at 4800 or better....it has short gears..but extereme acceleration...and very tight...feels like youre on rails....but..it doesnt sound like an alfa with webers...so thats why its a daily driver...

S1's only had that - and S1 production run was shorter which probably explains it. It is a much nicer design than the S2's fold up - because lets face it, with rear seats shaped like that who are you gonna fit in the middle anyway?

Does any one know.....why i have drained 2 sets of batteries....since last night....mind you its all new 2 liter rebuild not a 1750....someone mentioned the valve cover has to be grounded...well its going to my mechanic again tomorrow..but i wonder if thats the cause of batteries dying....or discharging.....well know tomorrow.

Can't tell if you have an internal or external regulator, but either way bad diodes can cause the battery to drain. Just one guess
