Talking National Alfa Day (UK)

Hi Guys, its been a while since I posted much on the BB so here's some new Berlina pics from todays National Alfa Day, The weather wasn't kind which made it very muddy but we still had a good turn out of all types of Alfa's. 4 Berlina 2000's showed up, I managed to get mine and another parked up near a 3rd at the end of the day as we were leaving (the 4th had gone home early). Sorry about the quality the pic's were taken on my phone.

Haig, I've never really been into football(soccer) so don't really follow a particular team, The Baggies are just down the street (ish) but then so are the Wolves,Saddlers,Blues and Villa. The venue for this years NAD was moved to Weston Park, Weston Under Lizzard (Just west of Cannock Staffordshire). Normally a pleasant place to be but with the poor weather we've been having of late all did not go to plan, loads of cars got stuck in the mud and had to be pulled out by 2 Matta 4x4's and 3 willis (willys? not sure of the spelling)Jeeps that were there as part of a millitary display which should also have included a fly past of Spitfires and a Lancaster which was cancelled due to the low cloud I think.
Here's a few more pic's anyway....
*Mine before the show/rain.
*A gold '76 2000 automatic the owner has had since 12 month old.
*A met blue 2000 like mine (same age and spec) misse dthis one thru the day and only just snapped this pic as he was leaving.
*A pale blue 2000 inezione, bit of a patchy history on this one but the owner has not had it long and is trying to trace its journey around the world. The story so far goes, It started life in Australia, then move to Canada and is now in the UK, Injection looks original?, Taillights are from a 1750 and soon to be replaced with correct ones and I suspect it may have been converted from R/H drive to L/H drive and then back again now in the UK. The owner said it was a '74 model, it has hanging pedals and a dual circuit brake master and servo mounted on the right of the engine bay (very tight) not seen one like this before.....Can anyone shed any light on its history for this guy???

hey, i've got a 69 B that i bought (again off eBay) a couple of years back that is next on the list. it looks just like that B from the SCAL lot, only clothe interior but just as ragged.
Andrew, can i add my name and number to the list and join?
Anthony, will the color be changed, do you know? i want to change that sand dust (?) color to something, but can't decide, i wonder if there is a "good" choice..?

Wink The Last Post?

Hey Berlinista, this is by no means my last post, just to let you know where else i'm posting Berlina Fever related stuff. Being in the UK, a small island with as little as a dozen Berlinas still on the road I thought i'd try a site a little more biased to the UK to try and attract some fellow owners out of hiding. I've got one on the hook already a pleasant fellow who's ID is Forza2000 and some other bits of interest from GTV and Spider owners.

Green Berlina:

If that blue car started life in Australia, it most definitely would not have been Iniezione from the start. We had euro/GB spec RHD cars here, with Webers or Dell'ortos. Some cars (2000 autos) may have been sourced from South Africa.

By the sounds of it, that car has had a 'hand of drive' conversion, but probably only from LH to RH. Hanging pedals is a giveaway that its an LHD car converted. As for the rear lights? Maybe it took a hit on the back, and it was replaced with a 1750 panel with the smaller light holes and lights.

Update on the "Blue Berlina" I managed to get the Chassis Number. Its not on The Berlina Register but when at NAD a few weeks ago I did suggest the owner passed on his details to Mr Berlina himself (Sir Andrew). The Number starts AR300 which ties in with all of the cars you guys across the pond have whereas UK RHD cars have AR240****. So I think its fair to say this car was originally US Spec. LHD.

Wink Up for Auction

Berlina fans, Check this out (hope the link works) http://www.barons-auctions.com/detai...ots/KFK86P.htm
This is an auction listing for the gold Berlina as pictured in some of my previous posts. I have no contact with the owner, even though he lives very near to me so don't know why he is selling. He has owned the car since it was about 12 months old off memory but the write up teels a bit more about it. Don't know if anyone out there is interested but thought I would pop it on here as its a slightly rarer model being RHD, having Auto transmission and being in very good condition.

Hi Andrew,

I emailed a while back to see about updating the registry to reflect that I bought Kelly McCrystle's TwinSpark Berlina as my wife's wedding present, but I didn't hear anything back, so it may have bounced.

Anyway here is the information:

VIN: AR*3000671*
year: 1972
Model: 2000
Engine: TwinSpark 2.0L with Bosche EFI (was AR01500*02228* )
Color Original: amaranto
Color Current: amaranto
Interior: tan (now black and missing)
Previous Owner Kelly McCrystle CA, USA
Current Owner: Danielle Hoard LaMoreaux Michigan USA
Miles: Unknown (was 50,000 when Kelly Registered it)
Comments: Converted to TwinSpark 2.0L Bosch gutted for racing then some interior put back in (was 8/72; solid; big tank; no shelf; Mortensen )

We are in the process of taking it back to a street car and occasional autocrosser, so any sources for interior trim would be helpful. Eventually we want to add A/C so the kids don't roast to badly in the back. Poor Camille was beet red last week by the time we completed the hour drive to the national convention last week. Of course roll down rear windows would have helped there.

Of course engine work on my Elan took up some of the money for the Berlina last year and this year it has been the pool. I will get it nice for her someday.

Thanks,

Rob LaMoreaux.
