So who says ALFA didn't know what they were doing back then?....just look at the understated elegance of styling these cars posses.....too bad ALFA ROMEO wasn't able to muster up a challenge to the Japanese in North America...but then again even today, who is able to hold onto their territory against them?

After reanimating my Berlina this season, i cleaned the backside bottom, preparing for waxing. i´m quite happy for this pretty good condition of metal parts, absolutely no serious rust places. Notice, that this is the "original" condition of 36 years of life.......

Sweet as hell!!!

Is that tire an original Michelan? If so, you should know this: in my not so humble opinion, those tires are the best quality tires ever made anywhere by anyone. My '79 Beige Sport Sedan has the original Michelan spare and I don't hesitate to use it.

It is still in perfect condition and works flawlessly, except, of course, that it lacks the grip of the newer tires. (I recently put about 500 miles on it.) But in ten years, even if not worn out, the new tires will have fallen apart into useless crap, while that Michelan will still be perfect.

Like Berlinas, "they don't make 'em like they used to..."

Regards,

Hi Randy,

its a Firestone wheel, from the first years of the 70´s.

íf necessary i would use the wheel for a short and slow distance....not more.....
it should remain in a "new" condition forever..........

ciao

'2000' badge position

Hi,
My Berlina is RHD and I only bought it about 5 years ago, so I dont know whether the badge is originally positioned above the lights. Is there any other car has the similar position as my car?
Cheers, Zafar

The green one may be a US model, although I am pretty sure they had an "Inzione" badge also, so ...? European, carbureted models may have had a different location. Where are the experts? Rogerspeed?

Hi folk's, The green one is a european model (although now living in the USof A) as is my UK RHD car which is almost identical to the one pictured. The 2000 badge postition is correct on this car. I have double checked in the sales brochure that I have to go with the car. The picture in the brochure shows the badge to be about 5mm above the swage line running across the rear panel and the last 0 to be about 5mm to the left of the R/H tail light recess. Can't be any more specific than this, hope it helps the perfectionist badge locators out there!!
PS I would scan the picture from the brochure but don't know how we stand with regards to copywrite law etc, blah blah blah

The 3 or 4 pics I can find show Iniezione on US cars just to the right of the license plate, next to the right taillight. No 1750 or 2000 that I see. On the few pics I have of non US cars, it appears there is a 1750 or 2000 in that same position, but I don't have many cars to go on.

I know the badge on my Berlina is in the right location. Growing up my dad had a 72 Berlina that was new from the dealer, also the same location.

GREEN BERLINA, Thank you for correction!!!

Giorgio
