'72 Giullia Super on the way....
After looking for a while a fellow bb member pointed me toward a nice 1300 Super and after more research and discussion the deal was done. So, with the car paid for and now starting its journey, I thought it time to get some pics up on the board here - Thought I'd post a couple - On the dock in Amsterdam - with what appears to be a Unimog or something about to consume the poor Giulia - and also a couple of under hood and trunk shots. One prior owner/driver around Venezia since Oct '71 - now its my turn! .......this saga will be updated when it clears customs at the end of the month.

Just wait 'til everyone sees the interrior pics! You are really going to love it!
I'm still looking for the right Super and am getting some advice and help from a couple of really great AlfaBB members in europe. Hope that I can have a similar post soon!

Hi!
Very nice car! Congrats!
BTW: Is this Indago Grey? My 1750 GTV was originally delivered in this color.

Luck- I'll take some
Thanks for your good wish. And... yes car came from The Gallery after some research in the netherlands as to their reputation and I expect to have paid a premium for having purchased through a dealer instead of a private party.
As you can see in the pictures if you look carefully, some of the paint has been redone in the rear, which is of a somewhat lighter tone than the grey forward of the trunk/rear quarter. This may well explain why the trunk looks nearly pristine as well.
As you appear to be VERY familliar with the Alfa market in western Europe, I'd be curious if you can add anything to what I know of the car. Did you have a look at it when at The Gallery?
Registration documents show continuous registration from October 1971 thru Nov 23, 2004 by a guy in Venice, then a sale to a dealer around Venice - Italtutto di Spinelli Vita & C. The Gallery purchased the car February 15, 2006 from Legend Cars in Spinea Italy, again not far from its original owner. I am in process trying to document the car's location for the 15 months in between even as the car sails toward Baltmore landing April 28th. Those in the Northeast will see the car at Larz Andersen and LimeRock and can hear about my impressions of The Gallery in more detail. The last time I got to ride to LimeRock in an Alfa was 1971 so I'm looking forward to that.
In the end it may well have been possible to find a nice Giuliaalready in the US, but then I would not have increased the population of Alfa's in the US , would not be learning the in's and out's of importing, and would have no story to tell............other than how I whipped out my checkbook.

Very nice, enjoy! I'm still enjoying my 73 Giulia Super 1300 which I purchased in Italy in 2001. The 1300 is certainly slow from stop but once at higher speeds does very well. I even have nicely tuned sidedraft Solexes. I'm afraid to change them or do anything with very reliable and easy starting!

Photos of some of my Giulia Super Nuova and Berlina 2000
The 75 Giulia Super Nuova 1300, I brought it from Koeln Germany last year in July, and the 71 Berlina 2000 from Varese Italy, it arrived in December of last year, I also own 85 GTV6 which is being totally redone painting by an Alfa expert don't ask the cost it is costing me a lot but worth it.............enjoy the photos.
