Trunk lock destroyed

A few weeks back I had a lousy day with the Super. First off, I left the lights on at work which drained the battery... resolved that. Secondly, I stopped to get some gas on the way home and went to get into the trunk and the key portion to the lock was gone! (I'll post a picture tomorrow.) So now, I have no clue how I'm going to repair this. Any ideas?

Also, I'll be needing a replacement trunk lock, with key as well. I saw one on eBay a month or so ago but decided mine worked fine why would I need an extra one (gotta be Murphy's Law). If anyone has a lead, drop me a PM. The part number is 105.00.56.037.02.

Thanks!

Call Dirk or Omar at Italspeed 323-733-4099. They might have one left over from the Super pick up or some other project

Is this the same as a Berlina? If so, I'll see if I have one.

Not sure. I guess I need to post the picture like I said I was. Maybe that will help.

EDIT: I have the parts catalog for the 1750 models but it doesn't include the Berlina. Maybe the pictures on the next post will help.

Hmmm... I can't quite tell but I don't think it's the same. The part # I have in the 2000 Berlina parts book is: 105.12.56.036.00. but I know there's a difference between the 1750 Berlina lock and the 2000. One of them requires that you have the key in the cylinder for the pushbutton to work (I think that's the 2000) and the other allows you to remove the key in the unlocked position and just use the button. I don't own a Super (yet) so I'm not sure if they're interchangable.

Bill

Bill - on the Super, in the locked mode, the button can be pushed in but the trunk will not open. In the unlocked mode - with the key removed - if the button is pushed the trunk will open. (I don't know why but that was the hardest two sentences to write.)

The outside picture shows just the hole where the button is supposed to be, there's nothing to turn or push.

Thanks for checking. I'll give Italspeed (thanks italcarguy) a call on Wednesday to see if they have one.

Problem solved - got some needle nose pliers and played around for a bit and finally got it open. Now to follow-up on getting that replacement.
