Super in desert heat
Here are some pics of my Super out in the 105 degree heat of southeastern Washington state (Tri-Cities) yesterday. I've owed some pics to Roland (Giulia Bianca) of "Prugna" in her new home after being shipped from Belgium last fall...

A few more...
The last one shows 3,527 ft. Rattlesnake Mountain way in the background, purported to be the world's tallest treeless mountain. It's the fire season (forest fires in western Washington, British Columbia, and crop burning more locally) so lots of haze currently. That's the Columbia river in most of the pictures...

Prugna's looking good. What are you using for F/R springs? I like the stance a lot - lowered, but not slammed.

Here are pics of the springs that Roland installed in the trunk of the car back in Belgium and on the car with the new shocks. I'll try to see if I can find out what Roland described them as, but Roland would know better than I would. Roland sourced several "European only" type components for the car (brake rotors, shocks), so the springs might fall into that category as well. Also here are better before and after pics, although unfortunately I don't seem to have an "after" shot that's from ground level straight from the side like the "before" shot. You are correct though that it's a really good compromise height. Still tall enough to make it a 4-person touring car, but definitely a more purposeful look. Roland went one step lower with his Pino Super (also with more aggresive wheels/tires), but that took away the ability to be a 4-person+luggage vehicle.

Gary,
Vary fine looking Super. It doesn't look like it's that hot, you've got the window rolled up. That last picture looks like it was taken in the same park they use for the pit area during the Unlimited Hydroplane races. When I lived over in Port Orchard in the '80s, I raced a 7-Litre class Hydroplane and ran a couple of time in the Tri-City area.

I definitely had windows rolled down except to shoot the pics. My top edge window molding sags an inch or so (what kind of glue works best for that?) and I didn't want it detracting from the shots. Wish it had A/C of course--here the best times of the year to drive a vintage car are April through June and September through early November. That pic of the car with the white gazebo in the background was a cooler evening shot from before the recent heat wave.
Yes, that's Columbia Park in Kennewick where they have that unlimited hydroplane on a pole at the entrance of the park. Quite a few of the pics are the Columbia Park area. I was wondering if anyone would comment on what that was. It was just 3 weeks ago that the hydroplanes rolled through town on their yearly stop and that park had tens of thousands of spectators on the shoreline. The limited classes are definitely more competitive than the big boats, which are more about the sound and power. Sport also has been in decline since Budweiser pulled out with all their funding a couple years ago.

Searching through my old email from Roland, his only comment on the springs was that they were custom made in Italy along with the shocks--nothing about size. I think he had a few sets made for his Pino, my Prugna while a friend of his owned it in Belgium, and a few others Giulia enthusiasts in his area of northern Europe. Maybe Roland can supply some extra information, but he's a more sporadic poster than in the past due to a career change. Here's a link to the original thread about Prugna including modifications he made before it was loaded on the boat last fall: http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/seda...um-tacoma.html. That link also has more before and after pics to get a feel for the ride height change.

Thanks for the info. I think I have the A/C problem licked on my Super - I'll post some pics once I put the pieces together.

I didn't notice it the first time I looked at the picture, I was distracted by your car, but I see it now.
