I need a complete gearbox.

I have the gearbox for the perkins-diesel, but not the engine...

Try emailing ZF directly - they may have an interchange list. Tony Stevens at Alfastop in the UK also has some experience of these Romeo 2 vans, and may be able to help with parts.

so you mean a g/box for a "petrol"-engined romeo 2 ?

Perkins-engined romeo 2's had the 4 DS-10, I believe, no?

The ZF factory are slowly scanning their manuals for their older gearboxes............no mention at all of the 4 DS-7 on their site, so far!

I contacted ZF some time ago... They did not help me much...

After studying the manuals and some tipps it seem like the gearboxes for perkins and petrol are identical. So i just need the ring between engine and gearbox.... But i do not think this is much easier...
Maybe i have to do a cad-modell and rebuild it. Does anyone got a modell of the clutch bell of 101 or 105?

F12 gearbox

Hi Nick,
I was in Italy 2weeks ago at Mario Righini's demolizione. He has a F12 gearbox, he showed it to me but I didn't look for the type, diesel or benzin.
Send him an email or better call him or his son in law.

The gearbox was used but lookd usable.

Hey Titus,

i found the ring between the engine and the gearbox.
The gearbox for the romeo 2 is the same for diesel and petrol.
The gearbox for the A12/F12 is completly different!

What are you looking for?

Nick

Hi Nick
Ah, I didn't know the Romeo had a different 'box. I've a petrol F12 with the 7/44 final drive and have seen in the diesel handbook that the diesel ratio is 7/38 so with a view to cruising at above 50mph I'm looking for that box and will combine it with the 1750 engine fed by the A12 carb but with bigger choke and jets.

It is a ZF 4DS7 which was reconditioned by ZF many years ago, and meanwhile stored in a dry place !
I bought it as a gearbox for my Tempo Matador but unfortunately it doesn´t fit !
I payed € 750,- for it.
I have some photos, but cannot post them here..
Please send me an eMail !
