Chris,
At a minimum cost of about $150K for a restoration (in this case, it would probably be much more than that), the car's price isn't really low (or high). But, when finished, that car will certainly be a very nice car...not quite as nice as a 6C 2500 SS Drop-top, but close.

from here : Automobilismo Brasileiro - Archives for: November 2007, 02
"This is the sad end of the Jolly team's Alfa P33, which had a nasty accident in the warm-up lap for the 12 Hours of Interlagos of 1970. driver Marivaldo Fernandes broke his clavicle, however, the car broke off in two parts. It was a total write-off. The car had won 3 major races in 1969, and it was basically unbeatable."

"36-year-old Ascari was killed while leading the 1925 French Grand Prix in an Alfa Romeo P2 at the Autodrome de Montlhéry south of Paris. He left behind a seven-year-old son, Alberto who would become one of the greats of Formula 1 racing and who would also die behind the wheel at age 36 and on the 26th of a different month, four days after a remarkable escape."

Some have an allure for tragedy....interesting how it follows in certain families.
