Andrew I went through hell to get the funds for this car. I sold my collection and my soon to be wifes car to get her. The Recaro was an option on the Q4's as well as the Q and S cars.
Thanks for the help with the clutch on the LS. I put it in with out a single problem by myself the trani slid in like butter and rear starter bolt was easy to put back in.

Wow, that car looks like it means business! How are their values holding up in Europe? The cars are all now 10+ years old and Alfa has moved on with newer products. But the 164 Q4's are really special and hopefully are still treasured over there. Best wishes with the newest addition.
Take care,
Jeff

Love those head rest boots! Do they actually do anything? Give us a comparo Lenard, us mere mortals would love to know the real driving impressions.

If you ever wanted to own a "rare" car, you have one Lenard. Keep this one in pristine shape and it will forever be worth alot more than you paid for it in the future. We should have just a 164 gathering some time. I wonder how many Q's we can get together in one place?

See Lenard just called his pal Bill Gates and asked him how he got his 959 imported and the rest is history.

All this discussion about $$. How much did this car sell for?
How many miles on it?
Do the cams make a difference? If so, how much? Has anyone quantified the impact of the GTA intake cams yet?! Will a stock Q blow this car off the road due to the 4-wheel drive losses and extra weight?

From what I've read the added weight of the awd does affect acceleration. And the top speed I think was lower, but I wouldn't care. To have the rear bias awd with what I believe was the first continuously varible f/r awd system, I'd give up some stuff.

What are these cars worth?
I may know of one that could come available here. A Q4, yes.

From what I have heard, yes, a Q4 can be imported and be street legal. I am not first-hand acquainted with the process, so I do not speak from personal experience. As I understand, it is not a process for the faint of heart, nor is it a trivial expense.
I'd probably not do it because of compenent availability and price for the Q4, but it would be a hoot anyway and leaves one with a very unique (for N.A.) ride. Maybe that would be a good use for one of JJ's 3.7L South African engines? Or maybe the 3.3L upgrades?

I don't see Lenard or TJ giving up the sale price and I really don't think they should. It's a very unique situation and every deal for a Q4 will rate it's own merits and price. If I were to throw out a VERY, VERY uneducated guess I'd say $40,000. I'm sure this will stimulate much discussion and perhaps disagreement but hey that's what happens with a question like this.

The car drives like an airplane. Very nice handling steering and over all ride but when its said and done it drives well. I have drove many cars and this is one of the best rides to date. The best thing about the car is that you know its an Alfa when you drive it.
