Pics of TS engine parts

Hi there,

just got the first set of parts for my new TS engine (for my 105series GTAm replica) back from the shop:
custom-made pistons, saenz conrods, crankshaft, rebored liners...
So i can start to put the parts together, head will be finished during next week, pics follow.

Oh, maybe also interesting:
as i had trouble with my watercooler the last weeks i decided to replace it with a volkswagen Golf cooler, advantages are the much better cooling power, less weight and a much better place for my oil cooler. And the cooler is cheap: about 40 USD...

Regards, Thomas

Looks great Thomas, pistons are nice! How has the car been running recently until the engine came out, all good? Hows the suspension?

Hi Max,

car has been running very good, no complaints about the suspension. BTW, a friend of mine recently ordered a suspension package from you after we mailed each other several times... .

Well, the engine has to be swapped as i had to let it roll out recently with 105 deg. temperature at the "metz rallye"... a good occasion for the engine swap.

Hi, the cams are custom made for my engine, approx. 328° lift 13mm (with 0,20 clearance)
Grinded ex valve guide shouldnīt be a problem, i trust my machine shop (he developed and prepared the Audi sport supertourismo engines and does development work for Audi, Mercedes and BMW), and he told me "with these valves and these guides - no problem".

I hope managing to complete the engine the next 2 weeks...

Here it is, mounted to the place where it belongs...

Started at the first turn, just two little problems during warm- up (water pump is leaking - didnīt mount a new one, and one exhaust flange is a bit twisted - italian quality... didnīt see it, just heard it...)

Video link

Hi,

after a rugh injection setup i had my first 500km, dyno will be in September... Have set ignition back to max. 32 deg and increased fuel amount just for security reasons. Max rpm is set to 6500 until the dyno, afterward something around 8000
After solving the problem of increasing fuel temp (over 45deg) in long idling times (no driving) with a selfmade fuel cooler today, the car is idling very good and fuel temp stays below 35deg. Montreal drivers know this problem...

Hereīs a link to a little video i posted:
