I found some more vintage racing pictures from the late 80's and early nineties of when my father raced Giuliettas and decided to put them in my album with some persuasion from Simon...
here's a few samples

Palmer you 're absolutely right. Those were the days for motorsport.Greece was really a heaven for those kind of events, which were held at military airfields like Tatoi or on the island of Corfu and inside the medieval town of Rhodes (island of Rhodes).Plenty of greek mechanics and engineers with little means but full of passion and brilliant ideas, which made them highly respected by the Autodelta itself.

The 33T3 made its debut on April 27th of 1972 in the race of Tatoi.See photo.I think that 2 of these cars found their way to Greece.

Photo 1.This one really hurts.Photo was taken a few hours after the tragic accident that cost the life of one of the greatest drivers of that era(John "Mavros" Meimaridis). It was October 3 of 1971 in the race of Rhodes, when his GTA hit the wall of the medieval castle, which surrounds the town of Rhodes.
In the photo below John Meimaridis winner of the Rhodes circuit of 1968.

Thank you Martin:D Most of them are scanned from period magazines (that's why the poor quality).I have plenty of them.I will post them.
I will also edit in my first post some comments.

This is the second 33T during tests at the military airfield of Tatoi (1977).
Two 33T were imported in Greece by Motor Hellas, the official importer of Alfa Romeo in Greece. Both of them were sold. This one was sold to a collector from England.

GTV116,

Your photographs are truly amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. The recent Ed McDonough, Peter Collins book on the T33 mentions a race at Tatoi on 21/04/1975 when car no.7 driven by Paulo Mashous won. It goes on to note that on the 27/04/1975 Boubis took victory at the Dionysios hill climb in a T33 numbered 41. Could this have been the same car? Or were both 33's out on the same week?

I've been to both Corfu and Rhodes, great memories of wonderful islands and people. To see cars race around Rhodes town must have been a sight to behold.

Kindest regards,

Dear Jeff.I can't confirm that speculation. But having in mind that two 33s were imported by Motor Hellas in 1972,it's very possible that these two cars were rivals in a number of races.

Corfu and Rhodes are nice places indeed.I hadn't the opportunity to watch those races,as the last Corfu circuit, was helded at 1971.And the last Rhodes circuit was helded at 1973 or 74.And by that time i was a schoollboy.

A revival of the old Rhodes circuit is unlikely, because is "politically incorrect"

Dear friends i am glad you like the photos.
It's a pleasure for me to share all that stuff with you. It's a blast from the past. And is very emotional for me after all those years to remember things that i was used to read when i was a schoollboy. These cars and their drivers are one of the main reasons i became an alfista.

1970 on a wet Tatoi and the GTA of Lakis Fotiades

1971 Omalos hill climb (island of Crete), John Meimarides "Mavros" and GTAM

1971 Omalos hill climb (island of Crete),Lakis Fotiades and GTA

1974 Tatoi military airfield,George Moschous and the Alfetta berlina 16V

1970 Parnitha hill climb (near Athens),George Moschous and his BMW2002

1971 Tatoi military airfield. The first race after Meimarides tragic death and his friend and best man Lakis Fotiades is a nervous wreck. It's his last race.He quit races.

1972 Tatoi military airfield,George Moschous and his GTAM

1972 Tatoi.Moschous'GTAM passes from the outer line Livieratos' A110,which follows a more conservative line

1978 Halkidiki Rally and Livieratos' Lancia Stratos

1978 the official importer of Lancia in Greece (ΛΑΜΔΑ ΑΕ) awarded Livieratos (on the left of the photo) for his successs with the Stratos

1978 George Moschous and his GTAM at Tatoi. The car used the Alfetta 16V motor (220hp)

George Moschous during a service park of the 23rd Acropolis Rally, when he won the 4th place. He is sitting in his Alfetta GTV.

1969 Tatoi and John Meimarides "Mavros"

1967 and John Meimarides is flying to his first ever win with the GTA

Inside the workshop of the racing department of Motor Hellas (official Alfa importer for Greece)

1972 Tatoi and a group of engineers of Motor Hellas (watch where the the fuel barell stands in order to achieve quick refueling)

And as the names of all these greeks are not completely unknown to some of you, here is Boubis (with the blue shirt) during the HAROC meeting a few years ago.Boubis now is running a succesful workshop (camshafts, motor evolution etc.)

and here is George Moschous at the same event. His family is running now a succesful Alfa Romeo dealership in Athens.

Exactly. It's a Giulia Ti monoposto (well sort of). It's the Alfa Romeo B-1 (B stands for Boubis who was the constructor)prototype, based on a Giulia Ti floorpan, of Nino Samaropoulos.

Ι doubt about that.As for its presence at the races,it wasn't that fast to win races (that's obvious). It was a brave (and maybe a little crazy) attempt;)

The pleasure is mine.
I am flattered to hear that from you dr:)
