The Sprint Coupe belongs to a good friend Carlo Vaniglia (my bodyman from Modena Autobody). It's a 1963, 1300. The color is a beautiful Zagato Blue. He started the car years ago, but, like most bodyguys, their projects come last. This same friend owns an original Lancia Flaminia Coupe, unrestored.

Your cars are beautiful Chi Si Dici. The GTV6 is really among the best I have seen of that type. You seem to have great crew of people to rely on.

Caro Mr. C, kije your quote "Nothing good has ever been accomplished without enthusiasm"! That my friend, is a most underrated quote. Good will / effort, combined with enthusiasm provides reasons to forsee a want.
Thank you for the compliments on the GTV6, I have always been a little sheepish in regards to what I did to the car. I felt better knowing that I simply re-discovered Giugiaro's original shape. The rakishnes of the body is much more evident once you loose all the cheap plastic.

Pics of my Super under the knives! Those of you with a weak stomach for ugly Alfas, beware! Beauty is truly "Skin Deep".

Grazie Bologna! L'Italia mi mancha tanto. Dimmi qualcosa, o sentito che la Polizia ha cominciato a guidare le BMW in alcune regioni invece dell'Alfa.

That's right, my friend.
In the A22 (from Modena to the Austrian border) they drive Audi A4 Avants, Allroads 2.7T, BMW 330xd Tourings.
In the A11 (the Firenze-mare) they drive BMW 320d Tourings.
Many "civette" (police cars not marked with police colours) are Subaru Imprezas STis, and other cars with powerful engines.
Here it works so, the highways are not public, but private-owned, so the owner company decides which car has to drive the Police on the Highway.
Anyway, not every highway is private-owned, and you can still see Alfas with Police colours.
As you know all the Mareas and the oldest 156 will be replaced by the new 159, with the 2.4 diesel engine and 200bhp - awesome looking with Polizia and Carabinieri livery
A question for you: is it real that the US Police - don't know if Federal or Local - had used the 164s?

I can't say for sure, both I would bet my left "coniglio" that it sounds like an impossible thing. I remember growing up and spending my summers in Sicily, I could not wait to reach Fiumicino and begin looking for the new Alfas. The site of the "Alitalia" colored Fiat 600's were always the first cars to greet you. How I miss those days. Now a days, I go to Italy and feel like I'm still in an American parking lot. I'm a nationalist by nature and have a difficult time accepting German & Japanese cars in Italy.
It used to be that people here would tell all that Southern California was "just like Sicily", that was until you looked down the street and saw the Taco Bell and McDonald. Now a days, the world has become one. I still miss the days when "Alfa Romeo"" meant you were in Italy!

That's the globalization, my friend. It isn't a bad thing, but it isn't a really good one either.
Italians are for nature the opposite of a nationalist. And this is bad. We have a real nice Country but we can't appreciate it.
Alfa here doesn't sell more than the 3% of the internal market. FIAT is the big one, but not because it's Italian... but because it isn't so expensive. Fast every italian car driver wants to drive a german one here.
I, on the other side, am happy to live here, but I'm the first to say, it's not the best place to live. Bad Government, heavy taxes, insufficient working resources, no scientific research at all (look at the names of the Researchers in the US: many of them are Italian... and my Girlfriend will be another one) made Italy not the best Country to live in Europe. If I'll have the chance, to go in another Country to work and live, in Europe or maybe in the US, no doubt I'll come.
But always with an Italian car
