Thanks for sharing! Great to see the 164 Pro Car finally on display after spending 3 years in the dungeons.

Didn't get any more pictures of the procar (was running out of room and the 33 stradale was my favorite)
I didn't know about the proposed race series when I was looking at it
Actually I thought I was looking at some strange looking mid engined touring car racer...

more info and better pics in this thread

I didn't book in advance jarrington, but I did ring to make sure they were open that day (they're closed sunday and monday at least, and probably every holiday under the sun!)

When I was in museum in August there wasn't Spider Duetto and Tipo Stradale 33 (d**n Goodwodd Festival )But I have one special photo

I'd be scared to see that in my rear view mirror!!
Some cars hadn't come back from goodwood when I was there too...
At least they got out - and don't spend all their time in the museum

Anyone know what race series the cars in bartek's pic were for?

wow, nice stuff.

a 2900b in baby blue? not my first choice for the color but looks nice.

do you have any more pics of that car with the whole car/sideview?

and that's incredible that
1) it's free to get in
2) there's no gift shop
3) they appear to have alfa's entire history and all the different eras on view

if that museum were in this country it would be sooo different. thank god it ain 't! (although a gift shop would be nice.)

Heading to Italy in April/May, and thought about visiting the Alfa Museum in Arese. The Alfa web site mentions that the museum is open Monday through Friday, but it has been mentioned that it was closed Sunday and Monday. Anyone been there lately and confirm their open days, or is it just an Italian thing, and they may or may not be open any given day? Unfortunately, I can be in that area only on a Monday, and of course, the last day of the trip.

Oh well. Would much rather see the Alfa Museum rather than the Ferrari Museum. I will be going past Maranello earlier in the trip, but I understand it is a very spendy uppity place, with fewer cars; besides, I can go look at different models of older Ferraris in various stages of repair any time I want. No big deal but, of course, the F-1 cars would be kinda neat. Would love to sit in one.

One last thing, are there tours of the Alfa Factory? Been waiting for years so that I could go to the factory and pick up a car to bring back here, sigh. Missed the last chance back in the late 80's. Oh well, again.

Thanks for the Photos.

Are there any later 60's to 70's spiders (1600 Duettos to 1750/2000 spiders) there, or are they "basterdized" children as far as Alfa is concerned. Sounds like that's how they consider the 164's, but they are willing to show the cars that they are currently selling?
