I am attaching a photo of my 1961 Sprint Veloce which was taken at my parent's home. I am standing in front of my old car. I am currently restoring the car from a bare body to as new as possible.
The car was purchased by my Father about five months after the car was produced in June 18, 1961. He purchased the car from Kramer Motors located in Santa Monica, CA. The car was sold to an American in Swtizerland and imported to Los Angeles. The car was driven 200,000 miles and the engine was rebuilt six or seven times because the fuel tank outlet was starving the carbs at speed and the engine was burning up pistons. The gas tank was repaired and the last engine ran 100,000 miles participating in numerous AROSC Time Trials in the 1970's. The engine is rebuilt and will be put in the car when the body returns. I do not believe people who say that their Giulietta is rust free because my car was only driven in Los Angeles and was in a garage for every year except one year and still had rusty doors bottoms, rust in the rocker panels, rust on four inches of the rear window, rusty passenger side sill and a few small areas on the fender well. The car was media blasted on every surface except the inside of the roof.
