The 164 FAMILY goes topless!
**For sale! I am thinking low to mid fours? What you think? I did get an original shift knob. It runs and drives great. Nice top seats clean title a/c new Big O tires. Everything works! I am selling off the fleet and getting an Q (Q4 would be nice) or an LS for now.**
I know this is a family forum but I cannot help myself. Got this one on Monday.

Nice Spider.
You know...if you sold those 6 164's you could get one 984....

Looks very nice, Lenard. First things first, get a new shifter! IAP should have a good selection...
Also, noticed that you got the year with the 85mph speedo. Must have been a fed thing. At least you can't get a ticket for more than 85mph!!!

By the way... Why is there a yellow shade above 55mph (90kms)?
Does it have to do with fuel consumption skyrocketing and giving alert to the driver?
Best regards,

The yellow shade is the old speed limit in the states and still the speed limit in some back hick states like Florida!

The speed limit used to be 55, so anything over that, you weren't supposed to go. Some cars were made to go no faster than 85, but I'm sure Lenard has discovered that this isn't such a car

Well, I know that there's a peg after 85 and the car wanted to go faster!

Wow! Looks great... a very clean '83. Seems that early '80s Spiders are often treated the roughest. '83 is a great year- the standard S3 body with the classic gauge cluster and interior (aside from the 55mph)
Are you going to keep this one?

Nice. 83 must be the last year for the 85mph speedo, my 84 has a normal one.
That chin spoiler's taken a good whack at some point

Wow. Looks fantastic! Looking at that brought back a flood of memories of my first Alfa. Absolutely identical except for the dash mat, shifter, floor mats and mine had a tan top.
Bellissimo!

Lenard, just kind of curious, does it have a lot of tiny dings down the driver's side in only a certain light/angle?

Don't get him too excited, I am trying to get him to trade me the spider for my pickup truck!

The reason I ask is, it looks nearly identical to one we sold a while back. The body looked perfect, but at the right light and angle, there were a few dings down the driver's side.
