Hi Kas,
I will post up some piccys of mine soon. I now have 2 ti's! One 1983 and just picked up a 1979. I'll be workiong my '83 this weekend (have a 16v lump I'll be getting ready to drop into it) and the '79 needs restoring so will be doing bits on that whenever I get the chance.
Cheers,
Jaty.

Hi,
here are some pictures of my 76 Alfasud 5m.
It has 40.000 kms and still has the original paint.
The 79 Giardinetta is undergoing complete restoration including brandnew
1.5 Ti engine and brandnew transmission. There was not too much rust to
fix and it will be repainted in its original "bruno cilento" color.
The interior will be changed from tan to black.

KAS, you picked right car. I suspect our right hand drive versions used a carry over dash (surplus parts) whilst left hand drive versions went straight on to new style. Build date for my car according to Archivo Storico Alfa Romeo was 7th October 1980. Personally I prefer my style of dash-looks and functions better insofar as guages go, but will acknowledge the switches for heated rear window etc in the revised dash are much better placed.
I really enjoyed seeing those early Suds-nicer in their simplicity and purety, rather than my plasticised version.
Alfasudinusa it is fantastic seeing the mint interior of an early car-must have been kept out of the sun all its life as every early car I`ve seen has cracked and distorted door cards and dash-the interior was really very nice, just a pity about the quality. I presume you imported these cars from Europe. The rear wiper was that a dealer add on or period accessory available and common at the time?

@ Alfasudinusa. That has to be the only Giardinetta in the USA, i guess? That car seems to be in a good shape.
I see that you have a Alfa 90 from 79? That has to be 89 or 85 maybe?
Can you post some pictures in these thread?

Thanks for the compliments. It took me many years to find the 76 Sud.
Yes, I imported it from Europe. The Giardinetta is still in Germany being
restored. After completion I will import it to the states and title it in Washington state.
Well, the rear wiper was already there. It might be a dealer add-on, I don't
know, I wish it wasn't there.
Best regards
Hans

Hi Kas,
I don't think there is another Sud Giardinetta in the states and I don't know
of any other Alfa 90 either.
Hmmmm, do you think it's not a 79???
Maybe the WA Dol did not read the Italian title correctly, who knows.
I will post some pictures soon.
Unfortunately I will have to sell the 76 Sud and the Alfa 90 soon, my soon
to be ex-wife wants some more money from me.
Best regards
Hans

O.k. What about the 79 Alfa 90, I get it.
The rest of your post is not a good story. Maybe you can find an other solution. Good luck.

this thread brings back good memories! My first Alfa was a '76 Sud Ti. Wish I still had it. It was not in very good shape though, and when I crashed it (not my fault ), it really did not make any economical sense to try and repair it
