hey, what's the deal with the front pulley???
i'm about to do the exact same thing as that, except with an alfa 33 box and outboard brakes, and my only concern is that the front pulley *looks* like it won't fit.
is it missing off yours for a reason??

Lenus,
The 16v pulley has rings for the air-con etc as well as the alternator/water pump, so it needs to be machined down to just one ring as otherwise it will foul the radiator. So once I've had it machined down I'll be fitting it on. (I did look at fitting the one from my 1.5 engine BUT they are different and the 1.5 item won't locate properly so that was a no go). I've checked with some alfa racers over here and for a road car getting the pulley machined is fine, it won't affect the balance of the rotating assemby enough to worry about.
Also, I think its gonna be a very tight squeeze getting the fan back in, so I'll probably just get a slim kenlowe one or something and fit that instead.
Jaty.

sud
hi mate should be pretty quick when finished .
are you getting some inlet manifolds made up so you can put the carbs on the heads also to change the plugs when the engine in will be a bit of a pig to do as there will be less space now with the 16v.

Hi,
Yep I hope so! Well the engine out of the box should without the cat should be producing 137bhp if all is working well, I'm hoping the carbs I'm using will release a few more. So 140bhp plus with the 1.5 gearbox should make a pretty quick fun car!
What I'm going to do (as soon as I can find a decent engineering/machining shop) is to get the original 16v throttle bodies machined down to a shape that will allow me to attach the Yamaha R1 carbs I've got.
Yep changing the plugs with the engine in will be a pain in the ar5e! not impossible, just will take a lot longer than a normal plug change! I may try and make a tool to fit when the time comes.

Here's a couple of pics of my little red Sud called 'Madame'. She's had a quiet couple of months now - perhaps she needs a bit of a spring cleanout (yes it's spring here in Melbourne, Australia!)...?

Well, I think that must be me than . Pictures of the Alfasud's that I have/had can be found on my website (see the link below this post). Here are a couple of pictures of the latest Alfasud that I have bought, it is an original English righthand drive car which I always wanted to include in my collection. The car is rusty an needs work ofcourse but it is not to bad considering it is a English car and a first series model.

Must be the best Sud in NZ. The interior mods are well done, the carpet reminds me of a Pug 205GTi but we all know a well sorted Sud will eat it for brekky
